HOW TO ARRIVE
Casa de Vilar is at less than 5 minutes’ walking distance from the Bus stops Palácio [PAL2, PAL3, PAL5, PAL6, PAL7], 15 minutes from Casa da Música metro station and 25 minutes from the São Bento train station.
To get from the International Intermodal Bus/Train/Metro Station Campanhã you can catch any metro line until the Casa da Música metro station. To arrive from the Francisco Sá Carneiro Airport (OPO) you catch metro line E until Casa da Música metro station or take Bus Line 601 until the Bus Stop Palácio [PAL2, PAL3].
The easiest way to get around on public transportation (either bus, metro, or train) in Oporto city is to buy a blue card called Andante (0.60€). You can acquire the card and your tickets in machines inside metro and train stations. The price you pay depends only on the journey you make according to a set of rings of zones in the Oporto Metropolitan Area (check the zones system here, and the prices here) – Casa de Vilar is in the PRT1 zone. Make sure to validate your ticket in yellow validators (on every platform of train and metro stations and inside the bus) when you start a journey and when you change lines or transport.
For touristic purposes, you can also pay daily (24h valid) tickets designated Andante24 for a specific set of zones, a daily ticket tour called TOUR 1 (24h valid in various zones, 7€) or a three-day ticket tour known as TOUR 3 (72h valid in various zones, 15€).
